Reiki works the sub atomic level to ferret out areas of problems (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual) within the human body as a whole. Practitioners often describe these issues as dis-ease, energy stagnation, blockages, and scar tissue. The best way to describe the process is that to the Reiki energy these unhealthy forms are magnetic. Just as a magnet is attracted to larger more dense metals, Reiki is most attracted to the bigger, more entrenched imbalances in the system. In this way, healing energy is focused where it is most needed.
Reiki is a form of quantifiable energy with particular wavelengths and characteristics. Thus, Reiki is just like other energy waves that we are already familiar with like light and sound. Humans can only see a very limited range of frequencies within the visible light spectrum. We can physically perceive a slightly wider range of wavelengths through heat (ultraviolet light) or sound (radio and sound waves). Other wavelength frequencies such as gamma rays, x-rays, infrared light, and subsonic sounds are beyond the natural human ability to see, hear, or otherwise perceive.
To the naked eye, Reiki is invisible. That is, the vibrations of this form of energy are outside the visible light range. However, Reiki is perceivable, mostly as variations in heat and cold. This perception is often apparent to both the practitioner and the individual receiving the energy.
Beyond its magnetic attraction to dis-ease within the body system and its ability to produce detectable temperature changes on human skin, Reiki has one more important characteristic. This one has direct applications for healing. Much like a laser or ultrasound, Reiki hones in on a particular problem area and cuts, breaks up, and dissolves the issue.
For Fibromyalgia, there are known nodules of pain called trigger points. When Reiki is applied to these areas, the energy breaks down and clears the nodules. In extreme problem areas, Reiki can also be directed to cut away blockages.
Dr. Tami Brady earned a BA and MA in Archeology and Heritage before turning her interests to alternative medicine (RP, RM, DD), largely due to her own experiences with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Today she provides Whole Health Therapy sessions to help people with Fibromyalgia. She is the author of nine books. The latest of which is Strategies: A Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia Journey.

The Title Of Reiki Master And The Precepts
The term Reiki Master was never used by the founder of the system of Reiki, Mikao Usui.
It was introduced when the translation of Japanese to English became necessary as the system moved out of Japan.
The question that we'd like to ask is this… is this the right title to call yourself when you are teaching, especially in our modern age?
There are many Reiki teachers today who feel uncomfortable calling themselves Reiki Master. This is because the title implies that the Reiki Master masters spiritual energy (Reiki). For this reason Shibumi International Reiki Association asks their Registered Practitioners and Teachers to refrain from using the title Reiki Master, instead calling themselves Reiki Teachers.
One of the first things you will learn when you study the system of Reiki are the precepts. As the foundation of the system, they are a good place to refer to when researching what the implications of calling yourself a Reiki Master might be.
The precepts are:
For today only
Do not anger
Do not worry
Be humble
Be honest in your work
Be compassionate to yourself and others.
These precepts are not only to be read, but lived by. What do these precepts say about the term Reiki Master?
"Be humble" one of the precepts reads. Wait a minute… is calling myself a Reiki Master in line with being humble? Doesn't humble mean; to not be proud or arrogant and to be modest?
"Be honest in your work" is another of the precepts. This precept is plainly asking for honesty in the practitioner's life as life is our work. This includes teaching or practicing the system of Reiki. Yet, claims of being a master of spiritual energy/Reiki is not in line with honesty. It is not possible for us to say that we have mastered spiritual energy. Life is a spiritual journey, there is always something more to learn.
So isn't it time that we start to change the title of Reiki Master to something more realistic, humble and honest. Shibumi feels that as we are teachers of the system then the term Reiki teacher fulfills these requirements. We need to walk our talk.
A good reference point for us might also be to look at modern spiritual teachers and learn from them. The Dalai Lama, for example, states that he is just a simple monk.
To practice is not to collect things and put them in your basket, but rather to find something in your sleeve.

he is making the reiki course uncomfortable?
I go to a reiki course every saturday and there is this guy there who is making things most uncomfortable for me.
His body language is telling me that he don't like me and I can not concentrate when I cross my legs he kind of like shuffles,I feel as if he is watching me.
Its got to the point that I don't want to go back next week. Do you think he can see some bad energy in me. I suffer from psychosis and depression which is treated by medication does this mean that I am part of the devil? He has made me aware of him as before I was not thinking about him, now he is constantly on my mind.
don't speak with him about it. you might look a fool. speak with your instructor first.
1. i don't think he can see any bad energy in you. if he could, he'd probably start up a conversation with you to tell you all about it;
2. if you suffer from psychosis & depression, can you be sure your feelings aren't related to these conditions?
3. if you really think you are part of the devil, go see a religious person. ask for an excorcism.
4. work on yourself with the energy. daily.
there are many people that we meet in life who just happen to rub us up the wrong way. you have a choice:
a. let it get you down and quit the course
b. don't let it get to you, think of the possible benefits in completing the course and complete the course
I think you should speak with him, but not about your experiences. Strike up a simple conversation. nothing more, nothing less. If he wants to talk, he will. If not, you'll know not to waste your energy worrying about him.
