Healing within Hypnosis
The mind has enormous power over the body, which
is constantly influenced by our emotions, thoughts and beliefs,
even manifesting themselves physically. For year doctors have accepted
that psychosomatic illness can cause disease and stress is now accepted
as a factor in various medical conditions and can lower our immune
system.
The body - mind responds to vivid images "as
if" they were really happening, when you imagine hearing or
seeing an object part of the brain registers it "as if"
it were happening. Words too have a powerful effect on the human
mind and body. In the 70's the Simontons pioneered the use of guided
imagery, working with people with cancer, their patients were first
given suggestions for relaxation and then guided through visualising
their blood cells fighting off the cancer cells. They found that
many of their patients symptoms improved and they had many cases
of spontaneous remission.
Patients who are anxious and worried about their
illness do take longer to heal than people who are relaxed. People
who practice relaxation techniques on a daily basis are often successful
in decreasing any anxiety and fear about illness and other daily
stresses. Their symptoms can decrease and stabilise. When you learn
relaxation skills you increase the ability to bring involuntary
bodily functions like heart rate, blood pressure, respiration and
muscle tension under your control.
Centuries ago many people believed that illness
came from a dis-ease within. Writing disease as “dis-ease”
implies that we are describing a state which is the opposite of
being at ease, in comfort or relaxed. The ancient physicians not
only tried to cure the body – they dealt with the mind too.
Their intention was to work with the humours within, hence sayings
like “he’s out of sorts”. The tracks on this CD
use carefully constructed guided visualisation to help you take
back control of your energy, becoming more at ease “from within.”
Listen to the CD regularly to obtain the best results. You'll be
amazed just what your mind can achieve - I guess that’s why
we say "I'll do it when I put my mind to it".
"Thank you so much in
helping me heal myself. I have been such a troubled person for 39
years. Trying to help myself in everyway. Sunday changed my life.
I feel so different now, as though I an finally let go. I can't
explain how wonderful that feels!" - Cathy
