Is wicca a faith or a fashion accssesory?

Sorry wiccans, but I've got to ask. Seems to me that most wiccan's are young, female and do not follow their faith seriously. Is there any difference between, say, being a goth an emo or a wiccan?
I don't mean to be rude or derogative, just a lot of the wiccans I've met are simply trying to express their spirituality through what could be considered a "cool" faith.

We older folks call the youngsters diddling around, being more goth and emo than Wiccan or Pagan "Playgans" and many of them fall away after a while. Not all Wiccans, Pagans, etc., wear all black, overly white makeup, black platform boots and all that crap, just kinda skulking around, trying to be cool or angsty. Wicca is a religion, founded by Gerald Gardner in England somewhere in the 1930's-1950's. It eventually made its way Stateside and took off in the free-wheeling 60's. Books were written either by initiates of Gardner who just sorta changed stuff around, or by folks who wrote about the REAL beliefs and practices of this set of Reconstructionist Religions, or by folks just looking to make a quick buck. Somehow, it got hooked into the Goth movement, probably through people mistaking the Church of Satan and one of its most famous members, Marilyn Manson, for Wiccan. Or watching The Craft once too often, but totally missing the last 15 minutes, where the REAL lesson of the movie is. So, now, we Wiccans, Pagans, Witchs, what-have-you, get lumped in with that crap. For the record, I'm 45, I've practiced for 20 years, I'm neither goth nor emo. I don't dress in all black, or in all leather/pleather and I cannot wear high heels at all, they kill my feet. I am, however, female and I also take my religion VERY seriously. The Gods don't like being trifled with and neither do I.
